Go here now and vote for Shatner's bulge! He's in last place at the
moment, THAT WE CAN'T ALLOW. Come on! It's a matter of Trek Pride!

Indeed, a Trekkie would go to a gay news sight just to vote for Captain Kirk
or start watching Boston Legal *because* Bill Shatner was in the cast, a
Trekker probably wouldn't on both counts.

Not all Trekkers have no sense of humor and are bigots besides, like
you, Kweeg. You're not actually typical, I don't think.

Maybe I'm stepping in it here but I asked a guy who was a real
Trekker/Trekkie what the difference was. (Trek figurines and posters in
his cube, when he gets an email his computer has Worf saying "Incomming
comunication"... ya'll know the type <G>)
He explained that the Trekies are the folks who go to the conventions
dressed in costume, the Trekers are the people who snicker at them and
point out everything that's wrong with their costumes.
.... and I'm not going to a gay site to vote for the size of someones
"bulge", now if there was a poll on the hottest babe to be on Star Trek
that would be something else again!

That's pretty close to the truth. Trekkie was a derogatory term other
fans used for people that were over the edge, or little kids running
around, especially young teenage girls that wanted to 'grok Spock'
TVGuide covered a convention and incorrectly reported that 'Trekkie' was
a term the fans used for ALL fans.
My best friend said "we're gonna be living this down forever"
That was 30 years ago, and so far he's still right.
Trekker was invented specifically as a slightly less embarrassing
substitute term, but it didn't catch on as a replacement because, let's
face it, the media is making fun of us whenever they report the
conventions; why would they want to toss back some dignity?

Nonsense. The term Trekkie is the original term that was used and
blessed by original fans and by Roddenberry himself. Get wise, you bumpkin!
Poll: Who's got the best bulge of all time? [final]
Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) 10.3%
Robert Conrad (WIld WIld West) 13.2%
Tom Jones 8.1%
Adam West (Batman) 1.9%
Eric Estrada (CHIPS) 6.7%
Jason Priestly (Die Mommy Die) 9.1%
William Shatner (Star Trek) 14.9%
John Schneider (Duke of Hazard) 20.2%
Mikahail Baryshnikov 15.5%
Thanks to all who voted!

There's no way to convince her of anything she doesn't believe is right in
her own little bigoted world, and she's only cool if you agree with
everything she says, ie: not have a view or belief of your own. I for one am
NOT a trekkie, never have been... even in '76 we weren't calling ourselves
trekkies but rather Trekkers. She has a problem with that.

Isn't "most correct" redundant? <G>
Perhaps the right answer is that Trekkers are a subset of the group
Trekkie. So all Trekkers are Trekkies but not all Trekkies are Trekkers.

Actually, that is not correct. There IS a way to convince me of
something that I don't believe is right in my bigoted little world:
present evidence. :)
If you show, with solid evidence, that what I don't believe is right in
my bigoted little world is in fact RIGHT in my bigoted little world,
then even a soul as benighted as mine must be forced to admit (at least
in public) that what I don't believe (in my bigoted little world) at
least appears to be true.
Give it a whirl! :)

Evidence?? Yeah
Hugging, well, that is a different story. And does NOT indicate sexual

Well, jeez, yeah, filter it....'cause that's common knowledge, anyway.
If any/all the K/S haters actually saw the woman, in person, their
droolcups would overflow, & they'd be unable to say anything other
than "Homina...homina...sorry...homina" or some such. One of those
ironies that turn out really cool. ;>

That is correct, "more better" is not better than "best", nothing is
better than the best.

show is about people on a trek, and being that as best we can we are
going along for the ride that makes us Trekkers!
