#1: Dr Who and the Krikkitmen treatments

Posted on 2006-05-18 10:02:33 by annaandlies

I work for a film company and whilst clearing out our stockroom (about
the size of a small semi-detached house, ooh, I love my job) I came
across a couple of treatments for Douglas' aborted Dr Who film. Funny
stuff (most of which is in LTUAE) and almost as amusing are the letters
from film and TV compannies turning it down flat.

Just imagine - a Tom Baker era Dr Who film scripted by Douglas Adams!
Geekgasm...

But as well as showing off I also wanted to post here in case anyone
knows of any online example of Douglas' handwriting? Each treatment has
c Douglas Adams written in biro and I'd like to think it's written by
the man himself. Its just handwriting not his usual signature (I've
seen the Bop Ad autograph on the official site) so it's going to be
tough to verify...

If you go to http://fonts.tom7.com/ he got a letter from Douglas a while
back and made it into a downloadable font. It's pretty damned cool, and
it ought to help you figure out if it was his writing or not.

If not, then no, sorry. :) Tea?

Is there any chance of you bene able to scan this in and post it
somewhere, or send it to somebody to archive it? Sounds like it would
be worth keeping, it sounds fantastic
