#1: My Idea For The "It'll Make Your Balls Explode What We've Done This Time!" Edition DVDs?

Posted on 2006-07-21 19:25:44 by Mac

Just listened to the very funny Kevin Smith/Scott Mosier commentary on the
"Deluxe Edition DVD" of trash classic ROAD HOUSE the other day, and it's
given me an idea.

Why don't we have afjb members do a co-commentary on the next lot of Bond
DVDs (what do you mean there isn't going to be another set, you little
fool!)?

I'd like to hear a Mike Feeney/Tom Zielinski commentary track on MOONRAKER.

Any more?

I think that's a fantastic idea. But if anyone made me listen to a
commentary track by WQ I think I'd only survive by gnawing one of my own
legs off.

(With apologies to Douglas Adams.)

But, to get serious again after such joviality, I think fan commentary
tracks are a wonderful idea, Mac. It would work especially well if
advocates and haters of particular films did the track, though perhaps
on separate tracks to avoid needless bickering. Dalton fan that I am, I
would love to do a commentary track for TLD or LTK.

My commentary track for MR, however, would unfortunately consist of one
long, slightly sad guffaw.

I'd be willing to re-author the existing DVD's with such commentary tracks
(as well as edit such a track).

(I wonder how much Lois Maxwell would charge for a commentary session. She
lives only a few suburbs away from me.)

I was thinking about doing a Moonraker commentary track with Lurch from the
TV version of, "The Addams Family", which would consist of nothing but
groans in the appropriate places.

(hmmm, I feel a new clip for the "Screening Room" section of
www.ohmss-007.com coming on. Does anyone have dvd's of The Addams Family TV
series from where such groans can be taken?)

cheers.

Whilst on a roll, I'd like to add a laugh track and some comic sound effects
to Moonraker.

Would take the textless titles from the UE DVD and rename it, "Carry on
Mooning".

The possibilities are endless.

All idea's gratefully accepted....

I've been a big fan of Smith since CHASING AMY. Saw CLERKS II today and
though I laughed a few times, I was disappointed.

Great idea, Mac. As a slight variation on this theme, I think it'd be
fun to have one commentator be from afjb and the other a well-known
celebrity. Some fun ones:

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY: Tom Zielinski and Ozzy Ozbourne
YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE: Mac and Paris Hilton
DIE ANOTHER DAY: Tim Pollard and Mister T
LICENSE TO KILL: Paul Clarke and Dr. Phil
THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS: Phil Gerrard and David Hasselhorf
MOONRAKER: Mike Feeney and Jessica Alba
