> Well, how about a system of ethics where making
> oneself personally happy is not the prime goal?

But you have not told me what your system of ethics is based on, all
you have only told me what it is not based on. All you have told me is
that you're not interested in making people happy, in making the
world a happier place.

> Ever see the flick CASUALTIES OF WAR.

As a matter of fact I did, great movie absolutely great, I liked it so
much I even bought the DVD. This my friend is a very powerful film.
I'm not easily moved to tears but that movie, I'm embarrassed to
admit, did it for me.

> men who behaved in such a way did it to make
> themselves FEEL BETTER.

BULLSHIT! If those men had felt unhappy to see other people in pain,
and if they were the cause of that pain then they were even more
unhappy then they would not have done what they did to that poor little
girl in a hundred thousand million billion trillion years.

Oh, is that what I said? Hmmm. Here is the full paragraph from my
other post to you.

"Well, how about a system of ethics where making oneself personally
happy is not the prime goal? What if hurting another person makes
somebody happy? They have to rely on their conscience and morals to
restrain themselves. "

Now, I personally can't see where you would have gotten the above
interpretation from. I find it very hard to believe that you made an
honest mistake here. But I will let those who care decide for
themselves.

Well, that is my ignorant laymans opinion, based only on reading
psychological studies of such men and watching interviews wherein war
veterans talked about their reactions to stress and how they dealt with
it. I refer you to such sources if you wish to learn anything about
the issue. The above exchange makes quite clear you won't listen to
anything from me.
