Okay, so it's not haiku... but there is reason behind my madness! Since this
is sort of a 'love' poem, I put it in the traditional sonnet style.

A lone dragon soars higher and higher
over a seemingly glass crystal sea.
With sunset glowing as if it were fire,
riding the thermals, one is truly free.

Sunset passes quickly, fading into night
and the heavens pour forth a silvery shower.
The dragon flies onward, bathed in starlight,
blooming in mortal's hearts like an ethereal flower.

With grace, he lands by his mate's side
and utters a verse of haiku.
On the winds of each other's hearts do these dragons ride,
sharing the mystery of dragon love-voodoo.

The pair, they embrace, claw in claw and hand in hand,
and together they watch the new day dawn, these timeless guardians of the
land.

Quoth "Scott L" <scottmonkey644@insightbb.com>:

>It's time for another RPA - Random Poetry Attack!

Formerly known as the Dragon Pome Society. :)

>Yes, those words, rhymes and meters have been just waiting for you.
>Around the corner, under the bed, in your cloest! And finally they

>the list:
>
>Dragon; Orange; Voodoo; Glass; Shower; Haiku
>Bonus points if you can fit them into a haiku!

Dragon quaffs orange
From voodoo glass whose magic
Brings haiku shower.

....

Actually, it's almost impossible to do a proper haiku with those words,
because each line is meant to be a self-contained thought, and there are
just too many syllables in the designated words to make that possible.

Instead, I offer this:

Through the filmy curtain that is a light shower of rain
Steps the voodoo goddess, the maiden, the mother,
Placing feet lightly onto the lush grass beneath them.
She glances left, right, at the orange groves around.
This is her place. She has been called with the words
That bind her to the world; words of beauty.
Not so long as haiku, nor so simple as sonnet;
Words that, to her, are as clear as glass;
Words of devotion. For she is seen as the land's hope,
Its soul, its puma in the mountain, its dragon in the dell.
Her beloved people have called, and she has come.

*Tries for another*

Orange dragon haiku
Strange "voodoo" in glass shower
Kinky dragon love.

article.
