Where did I read that a US radio station played Louie Louie covers back to
back for a week? Was it here?
I guess I like Motorhead's version the best - Lemmy's vocals just tear in
that song!

I'd be prepared to shoot myself if I had to sit through that. Better
that than have 'that riff' in my head for the rest of my life.

You could probably find one somewhere. One the otherhand what you NEED is
'The Best of Motorhead' double cd! You can usually find it pretty cheap
(£6.99 or so) at HVM sales etc.
If you ever get the chance go see Motorhead live - possibly the greatest
live band I've ever seen. Did you know they got banned from playing
Portsmouth Guildhall becasue they caused structural damage (at least that's
the legend).
Oh, here's the track listing - pretty good for £6.99 (actually Amazon do it
for £8.99):
1. Ace of spades
2. Overkill (long version)
3. Bomber
4. Please don't touch - Headgirl (1)
5. Motorhead
6. No class
7. Louie louie
8. Damage case
9. Too late too late
10. Dead men tell no tales
11. Killed by death
12. Metropolis
13. Emergency - Headgirl (1)
14. Tear ya down
15. White line fever
16. Iron horse (born to lose)
17. City kids
18. Motorhead - Hawkwind
19. Fire fire (live)
20. Bite the bullet (live)
21. Iron fist
22. Deaf forever
23. Heart of stone
24. Dogs
25. Ain't my crime
26. Shine
27. I got mine
28. Doctor Rock
29. Orgasmatron
30. Bomber - Headgirl (1)
31. Rock 'n' roll
32. Eat the rich
33. One to sing the blues
34. Snake bite love
35. Overnight sensation
36. Sacrifice
37. Born to raise Hell (live)
38. God save the Queen
39. Shoot you in the back (live)
40. Overkill (live)
....and yes, I do like Motorhead!

It's literally been *years* since I listened to any Motorhead. I got
that wonderful quiver of nostalgia in my tummy when you mentioned
them...

The song "Louie, louie" was forever ruined for me back in the 80s.
During the Cleveland Browns run to a pair of devastating losses to the
Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game (They call them The Drive,
and The Fumble) the song was reworked by a local radio station.
Our QB at the time was Bernie Kosar...a local boy done good. The song
was renamed "Bernie, bernie".
The shit has stuck ever since.

Nasty. TV ads do that for me - take a great song and fuck it up. There was
some ad recently that changed the lyrics to a James Brown classic (can't
remember which one). Made me shiver and change channel whenever it came on.
Oh god, the halifax bank adverts - some talentless bank twat singing 'First,
Last, Everything' (Barry White). The fucking thing made it into the charts!

I remember hearing them years ago, but no I don't have them. Not got a greta
deal anymore after flogging all my vinyl: Best Of, On Parole (a great
album), couple of live albums. Must get some of the ones I sold on cd
sometime: bomber, no sleep, ace of spades, never had iron fist for some
reason. Had some other live stuff on tape from god know when, but the tape
disintegrated. What I have got is some lovely ac/dc live boots, '76 and 78 I
think.

I didn't know that. Why? and more to the point, Why isn't 99th floor or

A little flappy and loose, but pretty good. No idea what the bass is like on
these shitty little monitor speakers though.

I like to sing the 'obscene' version, but really slow, so you can hear
it all. Heh - that's gotta be on our first EP... ;)

Funny you should say that - I was thinking of trying to learn the

I'd love to get one of those electric banjos and layer the sound with
my associate's three-chord chugging. That would leave the door open to
get ourselves a tall female bassist.

About 30 Alice Cooper LPs, The first two Jim Carroll Band LPs, a signed
Doctor Harmonica and Professor Washboard (electric blues) LP and about 20
7"s.
Instead of over 500 LPs, 50 12", 150 7".
You see why I feel sad. But then again, lugging that lot around the country
was not fun.

Hey, we've gotta get media exposure somehow. It wouldn't really matter
that much if she couldn't play a note (we could get a session guy for
the studio sessions) - provided she'd look cute and sexy on the front
of FHM (note - she needs to be 16 too) and cause all the fanboys to
buy zillions of our records because they wanted to fuck her... ;)

Mines the opposite I have far more singles than LPs
At a guess
250 LPs
500+ 7"
25-30 12"
Mainly UK punk/new wave/power pop
Lots of Wire & Damned I have about 10 different presing of DDD, lol
I still have my 1st LP which was a split LP Thunderbirds/Captain Scarlet on
the Hallmark Label
My oldest bit of vinyl is the Count Five on PYE from before I was born

That's the way to go. I've started buying singles again. I'll never by an LP
again, unless it's an Alice.

I really hate 12" singles. All that wasted vinyl!

I'm the same with my Alice Cooper - 7 copies of Muscle of Love, four of them
exactly the same! I think I've about 5 copies of the Schools Out 7" as well.

Every uk kids first record was on hallmark or k-tel. Mine was Star Wars by
the Sonic Allstars. That's excluding a bunch of Alice Cooper my dad's friend
lent me for a few months when I was about 7.

Nice. Psychotic Reaction? I'd love to get some old garage singles, but we're
talking extreme prices - Action Woman, 99th Floor, Strychnine, Beaver
Patrol - I think I'll have to dig out my pebbles cds when I get home :)

Just been looking at some prices on ebay.com. Some aren't too bad. Others
are outrageous, but I guess most were very small pressings. I'm sure I saw a
Standells 7" orig. starting at $0.99 though!
> Does your shop sell vinyl as well?
It does - 7" only. Mostly hardcore. In fact I think all Rockface's vinyl is
hardcore.

I thought about slashing my chest open with broken glass, or smearing
myself with peanut butter. Or maybe taunting the crowd into throwing
things at me, so I get injured that way...
Mustn't forget to smash my guitar and throw it into the rabble at the
end.

Possibly. A mate is heavily in garage and he's got a shit load of it. His
band used to play garage when it was unfashionable (I used to roadie for
them).
Here's a nice link to some cool garage mp3s:

Worked for HMV on Oxford Street and Our Price down here, but yes, a second
hand record shop would be a dream come true. I would be Jack Black!
