Extremely Rare Limited Edition Tri Level Chess Set. The board is
hand-sculpted to match the dimensions of the set featured on Star Trek
Enterprise making it a unique addition to any Star Trek collection.
Each board is signed and numbered by the artist and comes with a Letter
of Originality. Earlier replications by The Franklin Mint were
one-fourth (l/4) the size of the original used on the set of Star Trek.
This board offers genuine artistry and superb craftsmanship. The
Tri-Level playing field is clear acrylic and blue suspended on a sturdy
wooden base finished in a silver tone. There are six (6) attack fields
which may be moved among the three levels. The playing pieces are
tournament "Marshall Style" House of Staunton with a custom finish
of silver and gold to compliment this work of art.

Please notice this set comes with 6 attack planes. To play 3D chess,
Original Star Trek Style, don't use two of the attack planes. To play
the game as it was portrayed on the "Star Trek: The Next Generation"
and "Deep Space Nine", you use all 6 attack planes. The Federation
Standard Tri-D Chess rules cover both styles of games.
Includes the Federation Standard Star Trek Tri-D Chess Rules written by
Andrew Bartmess! This is the standard that all Star Trek 3D chess rules
are derived from. They were written years before the Franklin Mint
produced the collectible. The Federation Standard Rules come in a neat,
well-illustrated 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" booklet, with a sharp electric blue
60# stock cover. (shown) They include specific rules about the more
elaborate six-attack board version of the game as well. The FS 5.0
rules includes also the Klingon, Cardassian, Romulan, Andorian and
Ferengi variations of the game. A must have for anyone wanting to play
Star Trek 3D Chess!
