Short question. Let's assume no more of the video material will turn
up.

Will it ever be published? I for one would LOVE to read it.

So, it's OK for the rest of us to reply with unsolid and/or unfriendly
information?

Sure, I don't know about alt.fan.monty-python, but solid facts was never
our truly stong side over here at alt.fan.douglas-adams :-)

For instance, did ou know that Douglas Adams invented the number 42?
Before that, everyone had to count direct from 41 to 43. It was a hell
for the mathematicians, I tell you!

Ah, but were they _solid_ families against California's three strikes law?

I'm sure if they could get media attention from building a
family of _solid legos_ they would do so. Yes, at least one
of those families is solid. Which one(s?), varies depending
on the solidity of the _solid_ you are talking about...

According to Webster, there are quite a few types families we could be
talking about:

Main Entry: 1sol·id
Pronunciation: 'sä-l&d
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English solide, from Middle French, from Latin
solidus; akin to Greek holos whole -- more at SAFE
1 a : being without an internal cavity <a solid ball of rubber> b (1) :
printed with minimum space between lines (2) : joined without a hyphen
<a solid compound> c : not interrupted by a break or opening <a solid wall>
2 : having, involving, or dealing with three dimensions or with solids
<solid configuration>
3 a : of uniformly close and coherent texture : not loose or spongy :
COMPACT b : possessing or characterized by the properties of a solid :
neither gaseous nor liquid
4 : of good substantial quality or kind <solid comfort>: as a : SOUND
<solid reasons> b : made firmly and well <solid furniture>
5 a : having no break or interruption <waited three solid hours> b :
UNANIMOUS <had the solid support of the party> c : intimately friendly
or associated <solid with the boss>
6 a : PRUDENT; also : well-established financially b : serious in
purpose or character
7 : of one substance or character: as a : entirely of one metal or
containing the minimum of alloy necessary to impart hardness <solid
gold> b : of a single color

Main Entry: 2solid
Function: noun
1 : a geometrical figure or element (as a cube or sphere) having three
dimensions -- see VOLUME table
2 a : a substance that does not flow perceptibly under moderate stress,
has a definite capacity for resisting forces (as compression or tension)
which tend to deform it, and under ordinary conditions retains a
definite size and shape b : the part of a solution or suspension that
when freed from solvent or suspending medium has the qualities of a
solid -- usually used in plural <milk solids>
3 : something that is solid: as a : a solid color b : a compound word
whose members are joined together without a hyphen

Main Entry: 3solid
Function: adverb
: in a solid manner; also : UNANIMOUSLY

I think I prefer the 1-1. b (2) type of family: "joined without a
hyphen". No family should be joined with a hyphen!

I know some of those. The neerest thing to a Solid in

I can't believe there are no phone books with Solid

Incredible as it may seem, that is also the case for the Danish phone
book I have here: No Solid (except two companies, which doesn't count)
but a Soliman is presetn in this phonebook too!

My phone book has the business listings in a seperate section than the
residence listings. There, I have five Solid listings, ranging from
"Solid Core" to "Solid Partners".

Right, in the off-chance that this becomes some kind of cascade, I'm
getting in early.

The "Weston-super-Mare and The Mendip 2004/5" BT phonebook has this to
say on the subject of solid:

Section 1, the "Classified directory" does not mention solid. It goes
from 'Solicitors' to 'Sound and Acoustic Engineers'.

Section 2, the A-Z listing of local businesses and services mentions:
'Solid Fuel Association, Advice Line'
'Solid Glass Ltd'

Section 3, the A-Z listing of local residential numbers skips from
"Soleas-Canham" to "Solkhon".

So there we go.

Yes, evidently. But to answer the likely side question, no, it's not
available anywhere. The Graham Chapman archives seem to have gone
missing, at least from its old location, and according to this link,
the script is not likely to appear elsewhere, like the various fan
sites.

There are some pretty good articles and blurbs in various books about
the script/show here and there, but not much of the script itself
floating about.

No, even on afda and afmp, somebody would have given a useful answer if they
had. :-)

Tea?

This is one of those things where replying fast is a bad thing.

Life has taught me that some of the time you reply fast, some of the time
you do not. Unfortunately, it has yet to teach me when to do which.

Hooray!

Woohoo!

Yep.

Actually I feel just great with the way things are, actually. It
wasn't an "*Ahem*" of "Why hasn't anyone mentioned that it's me with
that .sig?" it was more of a "*Ahem*" in a "I'm right here, Tian!"
kinda way. That sort of thing.

But thanks for the vote of "you'd be there if I wasn't already there"
thing, though, that's groovy too!

The old 42 was the wrong one. That is why the new one was invented.

That would give an entirely new meaning of the phrase "What we demand
is the total absence of solid facts!", should someone show up and
state it...

Actually there are 25 Soliman's in the danish phone book. Also there
are 25 Solid's - those are, as Kaare says, all companies.

Coincidence?
