It's funny really. When I was just an insignificant schoolkid piddling
around my local high school, little did I ever imagine that one day I
would be a legend in my own lifetime, striding, flaming sword in hand,
across the fields of alt.fan.tolkien, wasting the trolls, charming the
damsels...an awesome sight to behold...

Haha! Means a lot coming from a pimply-faced high school punk, who posts
from Google Groups, and changes his nickname to avoid kill files. Good
one, thanks for the chuckle!

shut the f--k up.

Didn't avoid mine. :-)

Wasn't trying to. I know most people would killfile by e-mail address
as opposed to the easily-changeable nickname.

I have to admit to some curiosity about your being killfiled.
Used to be, whenever there was a flame war that these guys started,
you'd jump in and help them.
Now they killfile you?
What did you do to become so ostracized?
That's really kind of sick, actually, like piranha feeding on their own
kind.

Maybe it's because I keep ranting on about old foes from my RL past.

That is really sick. As often as these guys rant about the victims of
their unprovoked flammage being trolls and worse, they are in no
position to whine about you dwelling on your own life.
