Nor would I.

Sorry, I disagree about Way To Eden. I wonder if it's even possible for
people who feel negative about WTE to watch it again with fresh eyes.
Watch it with fresh eyes, and try not to judge it, except by its own merits.

Use your imaginations, and try to see the antagonists of the episode
through eyes unclouded by prejudice. Try to imagine that it is taking
place in the 2300's and that nobody of that era knows squat about 20th
century "hippies".

"Hippies" are never mentioned in that ep, so ignore all you think you
know about "hippies". Hippies are NOT CANON. :)

Think of them as aliens, instead.

There are some _super_ performances in that episode. And the costumes
were wild and exciting. The story was very interesting. And the music
was actually not that frigging bad. Please, give WTE another chance.

Your Trekkie pal,
Laura Goodwin

"Zetar" was bad, but far from the worst of the Turd Season.

It has merits???

That scene on the planet where we see Kirk with the image flopped over
(his Starfleet insignia is on the wrong side) was left in the final
cut. This shows us the kind of care and professionalism that went into
this lump.

And in fact nobody in the ep ementioned 20th Century hippies. The
Space Flower Children were insipid enough on their own.

Hippes were *shown* in the ep; TV is a kind of visual medium (rarely
well done (ba-dum-dumm!!))

When bad scripts happen to good actors.

"The ship is named 'Enterprise,' which means 'Ship which is
ridiculously easy to take over' in our rich and colorful native
language."

I tried watching it with fresh eyes the last time SciFi ran it... the
screams of the guy I gouged the fresh eyes out of kind of drowned out
the music.
