I love Spock the best, but he's not a full-blood Vulcan. This is a
thread about full-blood Vulcans whom we love.

So, EXCLUDING Spock, who's your favorite Vulcan, and why?

My favorite Vulcan is SURAK, the philosophical father of modern Vulcan
culture. :) His influence was HUGE and for the most part, totally
positive. He founded a philosophical and social movement that
ultimately united the Vulcan people in worldwide peace.

Plus, he's a gorgeous hunk! :)

Sarek. Mark Leonard did such an amazing job with that character he pretty
much settled how a "stoic" and "classic" Vulcan should be, bringing an
amazing amount of presence. Every time I see Sarek on screen it is a joy
when Leonard is in the role.

IMHO, her acting wasn't really that bad. But Blalock is physically too
fragile and delicate to be playing an action heroine, IMHO.

I don't like the way T'Pol's "Vulcan" character developed, but that's
not JB's fault.

[From TOS episode Journey to Babel]

Sarek is a mature, handsome, and very masculine Vulcan that radiates
intelligence, sex-appeal, and self-assurance.

He is politically and socially very influential and powerful. Plus,
he's a snappy dresser. :)

Heh. Blalock was quite vocal herself (going back at least into the
Third Season) about disliking how her character was being assassinat-
ummm, I mean, "developed."

After seeing her working with a decent script on "Stargate," I believe
Blalock could have presented T'Pol as a Vulcan *if* the writing had
supported it. Instead the writing supported her huge foam-rubber
falsies (which looked even less realistic after the pilot with the
scene in Decon).

Absolutely. Leonard presented Sarek as a multifaceted, complex
individual, the father to an icon we've come to know and love, and even
shown us a Vulcan who feels emotion even when culturally bound to
suppress it- and he did all that in one guest appearance!!!!!

Sarek and T'Pau - both ROCKED as Vulcans. My only regret is that we only
got to see T'Pau (the older version) once - she would have been a great
recurring character.

Ever note she had to FIGHT for pointed eyebrows? She doesn't have them

Jerks. But "Saavik" in ST2 also had human eyebrows. Which IMHO also

Saavik, because she had so much to learn and was an open book (compared to

I would say T'Pring. She is the consummate Vulcan. Sees what she wants and
sees the most logical , convenient way to get it. Keeps her emotions in
check to get out of an arranged marriage. And I have no trouble visualizing
Arlene Martel in that rubber nurse's suit that has been discussed.

I know most would consider her a villain , but she was a woman trapped by
her society into a role she wouldn't accept, saw a no lose situation to get
out of it and took it.
She put a stranger at risk , but after all ,he was Spock's
companion. The man she was being forced to mate ,
against her will. So there is my favorite Vulcan , mostly
because she is the purest point of Vulcan logic and anti-emotionalism,while
all her goals are toward getting her favored lover.Oxymoron at its center ,
yet Spock applauds her logic.Very Vulcan.

Spoiler space for those that haven't seen it yet.

This season's Vulcan Refromation Arc featured a young T'Pau leading the
reformers. Her sect believed that Vulcan had left the true path of Serek.
The leader of The Vulcan High Command tried to frame them for destorying
the Earth Embesy.

Archer and T'Pol beamed down to an area called the forged and met the
founder of the sect. He was killed during a storm but before he died he
passed Serek's Katra to Archer. Archer under the infulence of the Katra
Discovers the vessel that contains the original writtings of Serek.
T'Pau, T'Pol and Archer escape with it when the High Command destorys
their the sects hidding place. The make it back to the captial of Vulcan
and expose the leader of the high command as the one reponsible what
happened to the embasy. The all so reveal the writtings of Serek and
puts the Vulcan's on the road to becoming what they were in TOS. A
preist removes Serek's Katra from Archer.

In the arc we see Serek. T'Pol's mother is killed, she was a member of
the sect. T'Pau cures T'Pol of her mindmeld disorder it was actually
caused by untrained Vulcans using the meld. We learn that the Vulcan
ambassor know how the use the Mind Meld.

Finally we see the exhead of the high command meeting with a Romulan
leaving the impression that he is one too.

Oh! Funny, I actually saw that episode, but I didn't see any similarity
between that "T'Pau" and classic T'Pau.

Is it possible there is more than one T'Pau, like there is more than one
JOHN?

Maybe it says that you don't accept any Trek that contradicts TOS canon?

I like Stonn, too. He's a stand-up kind of a Vulcan. T'Pring thought
he was better than Spock. That should count for something!

Kirk took one look at the hunky Stonn, and decided that Spock probably
couldn't take him in hand-to-hand combat. That too should count for
something!

In short, both Kirk, and Spock's "intended" T'Pring, thought that Stonn
had a lot on the ball - more than Spock did (at least, on that
occasion)! That ~should~ count for something!

Plus, he was a great-looking guy! :)

Could she have BEEN more poorly cast? Typical Enterprise.

Now, picture what Juliet Landau could have done with that role.
