I have to say, I do see your point. The "nasty, stinking HHG pirate"
version has much more potential than the "there's an HHG related person in
another movie and I want to know where" version. Plus the latter pretty
much qualifies as a legitimate, on-topic post for this froup and that's
against the rules.

I do have the DVD. It's ex-rental and therefore probably genuine. I didn't
know they were supposed to be rare. This movie is 6 years old. Anyway the
answer probably is "nowhere". Several websites say he is in it but I still
can't spot him.

I've read/ heard in an interview (can't remember where, sorry) that he's the
disembodied voice of Renne Roussou's accountant. So look for a phone call
I haven't even seen the thing - since it was a remake I'd assumed it was
rubbish. Is it worth a look?

I haven't seen the original, but this is well worth seeing.
I'd rate it along the lines of the remake of Ocean's Eleven, if you've seen
that.
If you haven't, TTCA has great performances from the leads, nice pacing,
superior storyline and turn-it-up soundtrack.
