Back from Camp [message #62625] Fr, 17 Juni 2005 00:52

I'm back from my Civitans leadership camp. It was a blast. There really
was too much happening to put it all into this post. We all were put into
random groups called 'tribes', and my particular group came up with the name
"The Breakfast Club", in reference to the old movie with that name. There
was a really funny kid we called Romania because he was from Romania. There
were lots of sports like basketball, volleyball, and swimming. Plus a
little incident with the smoke detector. Someone put a t-shirt over the
smoke detector. So the fire alarm in the boys' dorm went off, and we had to
call the fire department and say it was a false alarm. He didn't get in too
much trouble because we didn't know that would set off the alarms. I was a
witness in the same room, so I knew it wasn't an emergency door or someone
trying to smoke. There was a talent show, which I was not in. Two of my
friends wrote a song and played guitars in it though. They thought it would
be funny to put a lot of British phrases in it. The last night, we wouldn't
have had to even go to bed, but something happened which I don't know the
entire story, and don't feel like this should be posted for all to see.
Then the counselors all made us go to our rooms. The way back was
uneventful, and when I got back I had a massive headache. Plus I slept in
to nine this morning, which is very rare for me.

I wouldn't say it was the best stuff, though.

I found out. He got into an argument with the counselor over a basketball.
The counselor took it away, and then eventually the kid threatened to pour
urine on the counselor's clothes. It was a real cup of piss! Very sick
indeed...
