yeah, that's what they used in 'The Girl from Tomorrow'
was airing through early 90's, don't know when the book was written
though...
so the concept has been around. They went one step further, to say that the
sonic waves knocked the dirt off, and then UV light was scanned over you to
'disinfect'

UV light is damaging to your epidermis on a molecular oncogenic level.
But the thought of sound being better than water rocks :) I can't wait
myself.
Ultrasound is rather expensive to generate but with all things the price
will come down.
Now if they had some Vidiian medical technology to cure my blepharitis I
could go for that right now.
