Ex Machina by C. Bennett is a TOS novel that takes place in the weeks after
the V'ger incident (ST:TMP).
Have the book is about Spock, Kirk, McCoy, Zulu and Checkov coming to terms
with the consequences of the events in TMP.
The second part is a hopeless political screed on the war on terrorism
barley masked as a story about what happened to the Yonada (the oracle
worshipers on the asteroid ship in the original series).
Both stories are really weak.
