Seems like if the actors wanted to do it, and the fans wanted to see it,
they could make it happen. The idea of a prequel is interesting, but, I
would rather see this.

ISTM that it's obvious that for another Trek to have any hope of success, it
needs to be some kind of an "event" with major commitment from Paramount,
something that will really draw attention and kickstart the franchise. A "5
Doctors" approach as suggested by Stewart would be one way perhaps (though
it'd be easy for it to descend into fanboy cheese)- I'm also quite keen on
Graham's Klingon/Federation war trilogy idea :)
But the USS Berman is wandering off into a starless void in search of
cheapness on the planet of prequels, and as such his ST XI, should it have
the misfortune to be made, will be another embarrassment, like seeing a once
world-conquering rock band playing weddings and bar mitzvahs.
My immediate hope is that nothing new gets made until Berman/Braga have
fucked off and the dust has been left to settle a while. And Paramount stop
blaming "franchise fatigue" and realise it was "franchise bollocks" that
killed it.
