As of Monday, I'll be working the call-centre for Norwich Union
Direct....If you've seen the 'quote me happy' insurance adverts, that's
the job I'll be doing....Quoting people happy....
There really is light at the end of the tunnel....

Congratulations!
It always made me happy on the froup when you quoted my postings, so I
think you should be ideal for your job :-)

I remember that line was the test line for the speech module on MacOS 9
- someth ing like:
"The lights I see at the end of the tunnel, are the headlights of a fast
approaching train" - when you set a deep and very slow male voice it
sounded almost like singing in a very depressing voice.
In you case, it seems we can dispose of the train part though :-)
Best

Fat Sam <janetandsam [at] beeteeinternet.co.uk> hit the keyboard.
Afterwards the following was on the screen:

Now, there will be no calling to the London clock from strange places!
> There really is light at the end of the tunnel....
Yes, the lights are still on. Now, you did pay the electricity bill,
didn't you?

Kaare, Kaare... this little excursion of yours has lust cost me 2 hours
of my precious time, because when I went into MacOS X to try out what
that sentence sounds like nowadays, I got to playing around with the
speech recognision gismo of my (relatively) new iBook. And not only have
I wasted time, I am sure everybody here at St.-Luke's Student Hostel
will think I'm off my rocker... not quite a dole... where does that
expression come from, anyway... to be on/off the dole.... what's it
derivation?
/me gets a bit pensive at 1:30 at night
/me also wonders if anybody got his HHGG reference....
So Long, Malte
