'New species of dinosaur' my tail... I bet you if they do find the
wings the whole event will be quietly burried. I'm not one of those
conspiracy nuts, it just seems like the kind of thing that humans might
do. But, I agree, it would be quite interesting if they did find the
wings.

Ok... Yeah, I see it now. That is odd. Maybe they did it so it would
look less like a dragon at first glance.

I think the government is playing a double-bluff like they did with Area 51.
First off, it is a minor news story, which doesn't deserve any real
attention. Then, people will notice how it looks like a dragon when they
take a closer look. Then, the government will deny that it is anything of
the sort. They will secretly store away genetic information, and they will
have archaeologists (yes, because they really want suspicion) either use an
existing _accurate_ method of determining the age, or have specialists
'invent' a new one. Then, storing away this information, along with other
bones, will continue to say that it was a very rare dinosaur specimin, and
that only they can be trusted to keep it secure. The outcome in this
scenario will mirror exactly what Area 51 amounts to. The U.S. may be
genious, but the government is really not at all creative.

Mm... I don't think it worth something like that though. There is no
need the government need to hide something that just look similar to
dragon. The archaeologist will just think of it as a flying dinosaur
anyway. Unless they actually found a recently dead collapsed or
something like that. Which I felt pretty sure such a story won't come
into news that easy. But even if there is a living dinosaur live just
in a forest near their house, they would just call them wild dangerous
predator anyway...that is...if they can't talk with them }:=8P

Ah, the joys of conspiracy theory. :) Has it occurred to anyone that,
while many scientists gain satisfaction from discovery for its own
sake, quite a few also like the celebrity that comes with the public
revelation of a very big find -- which is, I suggest, what a genuine
dragon skull would be.

Amataur fossil-hunters, as the original story says, give their finds to
museums, as a rule, not the government. And museum paeleontologists
are not generally in close contact with the state, therefore leaving no
sense of obligation to keep the skull secret for whatever nefarious
purposes you're ascribing to the USA here.

While I governments undoubtedly /do/ leave some discoveries under
wraps, I don't think this is an instance of it. It's more likely, even
if the supposition that this is a dragon skull proves to be correct,
the scientists in question don't want to announce the fact until
they've verified it. That could potentially take a fair bit of time,
especially as it apparently bears a very strong resemblance to an
existing dinosaur genus as well.

See? No mystery at all. And yes, I /am/ no fun. >:D

Nothing wrong with a strong imagination. But I don't have time for
paranoia. I'm a journalist -- I encounter enough genuinely stupid or
unpleasant stuff that I don't want to see it when it isn't even there
as well. <:)

It's not like I'm paranoid on purpose, just by nature. And it's not to
the point where it interferes with my day to day life, or anything. At
least not normally...
