Just wanted to know if I'm the only one in here who is watching Lost
(the show about those guys lost on a island)?
There are some spooky numbers on that show, 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and the
last one... a guess, anyone... well... 42.
Coincidence, i think not ;-)

Yep, the wife and I are watching Lost also. I happened to mention the
42 reference on the tivocommunity.com forum, and a dissapointing number
of people got it. One guy even thought it was a reference to the
Sicilian Vizzini character from The Princess Bride. [sigh].

It is nice to dry up wet things like water with.
Also, I do not have too much room (almost all else is as small as the
kitchen), so I do not have kitchen paper (I do not know if it is
called so in english; it is esentially the same as toilet paper, just
double as wide) - in that way I do not have to have both a pack of
toilet paper and a pack of kitchen paper lying around...

Eh, it's not chained to the wall. The "chain" is the line to draw the

You weren't supposed to explain I was mistaking the mundane for the surreal.
You were supposed to come up with some outrageous reason the toilet paper
had to be there and had to be chained to the wall. Something to do with
international security or transdimentional physics would have been nice.

Ssshhh! The feds might hear it!
It *is* just the cable for my microwave.
What? I did not say microwave before? Oh, I do not *have* a microwave?
What then? Oh yes, the thread for the curtain!? I keep forgetting...
Besides (mostly for Uncle LLoyd, I guess), the metal container in the
middle of the picture is a "stempelkande" or faffitierre - it is a

That sounds plausible - it's called the same (directly translated to
danish, that is). I do not know why I thought of "kitchen paper"
instead. Perhaps a page fault in my main memory banks.

To steer this vaguely back toward on-topicness, in North America we call
them paper towels, and this is fitting as they can be quite handy, though I
tend not to use them because using cloth is more environmentally friendly.

The "kitchen roll" suggested på - ehm - John I think? is more close to
the danish term (køkkenrulle - no, don't ask how to pronounce it ;o)
> tend not to use them because using cloth is more environmentally friendly.
I mostly do too, but once in a while I use kitchen roll for various
reasons. And yes, it is still chained to the curtiain ;o)

It sure is nice. I got it for christmas from a friend (or fellow nerd
someone might call it). I am now trying to convert him to DNA stuff -
I think I convinced him to order the books not so long ago ;o)

That is certainly a clean kitchen. Mine looks nowhere near as nice...

Of course you'll convince him - you tell us he is a nerd... And I
automatically, knowing your background, assume he is a geeky nerd.

At least I will try. He either ordered the Ultimate HHGG or began
looking for it. He has not commented on it so I assume he hasnøt read

And he works with computers and networking - I guess that makes him a
geeky nerd ;o)

It sure was (I won't photograph it now ;o) - but shortly before it was
an entire mess.
