Quandary Phase CDs [message #44629] Sa, 21 Mai 2005 15:51

Astonishingly, the CDs for the Quandary Phase contain more than a whole
extra episode worth of deleted material! Once again, they make the story a
bit more intelligible, and include bits like the Biscuit Story and Arthur
waking up to find himself flying over a rose bed.

My favourite extra bit has to be in Arthur's conversation with the Friends
of the Planet Man:

Arthur: Do we know each other?
Eco Man: Do I look like the sort of person who'd spend time with you?
Arthur: Sorry, must be having a deja vu.

Rather like having the original Marvin appear in the movie, but done in a
somewhat more subtle manner. And speaking of Marvin, I thought they did
his scenes really well, and for once the synth strings actually seemed
appropriate.

And my favourite bit that'll probably be cut from Fit the 22nd:
Nick Clarke: Actually Patrick, that phone's my lucky colour.
Want to swap for this one?
Sir Patrick Moore: Not unless it's got this way cool ringtone!

Followed by a quick burst of 'Share and Enjoy' on a xylophone. (Played by
Sir Patrick? We should be told!)

I pre-ordered the Quandary and Quintessential CDs from bbcshop.com about a
month ago, and the Quandary Phase arrived yesterday. Its official release
date is Monday.

Haven't they heard of credit cards? Or are you one of those odd folks (like
me) who think paying 19.8 percent interest is just this side of egregiously
stupid?

The 1950s Home Service repeat of one of the HHGG radio episodes came before
that.
