Tell that to Michael Dorn who played Worf on TNG, DS9, and 5 feature
films. And tell it to Avery Brooks who played the lead character of
Benjamin Sisko for 7 seasons on DS9. And tell it to Tim Russ who played
the important character of Tuvok in Voyager and Star Trek video games.

I concur.

Besides, Captain Sisko was _the main character in DS9_, and he was
certainly black.

Tuvok was a black Vulcan.

The ~empress of them all~, Lt. Uhura, was famously black.

http://allyourtrekarebelongto.us/uhura.htm

Uhura was not a minor/background character: she was a prominant regular
character, and one of the highest caliber.

As for "Canadians" represented in Star Trek... At the time of Captain
Kirk, planet Earth was one united nation. We don't honestly know how
many Terran SF crewpeople were "Canadian". Kirk was from Iowa, but he
didn't self-identify as "American". If anything, he called himself an
Earth-man.

Not to forget, if memory serves me right, Kirk and Uhura kissed, the first
interracial kiss shown on TV in many countries.

Anyway, ignore the troll, we know they are fucktards who have no life.

What a dumbass. Canadian isn't a race. Besides, William Shatner is
Canadian.

Looks like you're the 'tard.

Neither do I.
It's a geographic location.

There is no such thing as a "race", period, there are just some arbitrary
classifications which it's high time we did away with. Colours of skin,
hair, body shape, facial features and so on are useful as ways to quickly
identify others ("that fat guy over there", "I'm white, with brown hair",
"she had red hair and blue eyes, officer", "that black guy at the bar, I
love his shirt") but that's all. The concept of "race" was invented in the
colonial period, as a justification for various maltreatments of foreigners,
and has no basis in science or rationality.

I like both Star Wars and Star Trek. But then again, I also enjoy watching
the Star Wars Holiday Special for its MST3K fodder. And I like Babylon 5,
Ray Bradberry's Martian Chronicles, The original Battlestar Galactica [but
not Galactica 1980], Lost in Space (the TV series and the movie), The TV
series "V", and a few other movies. When I say I like Star Trek, I am only
talking about the original series. I think all the other incarnations of
Star Trek were Gene Roddenberry's nightmares. Those other ST series were
probably good in their own special way, but I have never cared much for the
way the stories were handled. I guess I am just not a fan of the way Rick
Berman does Star Trek.
