Figured I'd forward this.
On June 1, 2005, cell phone numbers in the U.S. are being released to
telemarketing companies and you may start to receive unsolicited sales
calls. These calls can prove to be costly as you will be charged for the
airtime.
Here is a guaranteed way to keep your privacy and eliminate the cost to you.
You can call the National "Do Not Call" registry operated by the U.S.
Federal Trade Commission at 1-888-382-1222 - Registration Number
To register your cell phone, you must call from the phone which you are
adding to the registry. Once registered the cell phone number is blocked for
5 years.

https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx (this is the easiest way...)
