I didn't want to start listening to the Tertiary Phase until I had
refreshed my memory on the Primary and Secondary Phases, as it's been
around 10 years since I last listened to them....
So yesterday I sat for a solid 6 hours or so, with headphones on
listening to all 12 episodes....I have to say, I'm amazed by how much I
had forgotten....The ending of episode 12 actually came as quite a
surprize to me....I honestly couldn't remember how it ended....
Tonight, I will start on the Tertiary Phase.....I'm really looking
forward to it....

Yeah, that really got to me - I even cued up the last ep of the
Secondary Phase to make sure I remembered how it had ended - and I had
only listened to it for the first time a week before that!
Is there any reason why most of the Secondary Phase was washed away
like that? Was it some weird attempt to get the "third phase talking
about the third book" or something?
I am sure this has been asked before so there must be a website that
explains all...

The Secondary phase existed before the books. The books tell a different
version of the story to the radio series. The Tertiary (and subsequent)
phases are based on the *books*. As such, the ending of the second book and
the ending of the second radio series are completely different...

It bothered me too....I was expecting it to lead on from where Arthur
ran off tith the Heart of Gold....It took me a good couple of minutes to
figure out what was going on....
Was Slartibartfast played by a different actor?
And how come Marvin and Zaphod sound so wooden nowadays?...

I suppose they didn't want to really rewrite the story enough to
actually make Lintilla fit into it all... Then, Douglas actually write
some of the material used in Fit the 13th, and he based it solely on the
books too, I think...

Yes, indeed. The only really not-too-good choice in my opinion.
> And how come Marvin and Zaphod sound so wooden nowadays?...
I didn't think they sounded wooden, but I suppose they have gotten older
too...
