Chicken Little trailer (not OT; really!) [message #34005] Do, 12 Mai 2005 20:46

I haven't seen mention of the Chicken Little trailer shown before the
H2G2 movie. At least it was at the theater I went to. (Of course, I
haven't read all the movie discussion since it all seemed to quickly
digress to it-was-good/it-was-bad.)

Um, spoilers ahead,

I

guess,

if

you

haven't

seen

the

movie

yet.

I commented to my wife, "why are they showing the trailer for a movie
we're about to see?" Then the "Don't" fell off "Don't Panic" and I
realize they'd gotten me. Cute trailer, but I still have no great
desire to see Chicken Little. Anybody else get fooled by the Chicken
Little trailer?

Yep, I was fooled.

I thought someone spliced the wrong trailers together. But it was
more disconcerting than cute IMO. Probably because of the car
commercial, the cell phone PSA, the popcorn commercial, the Sprite
commercial (a little doll tries to get a Sprite at the party), and
the five previous trailers.

Not too cool to give me false hopes the movie was starting...

Chicken Little isn't Pixar either, is it? The trailer showed a
lot of promise and terrific animation. Surprising. Looks much
better than the coming Cars film.

I was, too - and try as I might to find an on-line version of that trailer,
I can't. Any clues?

I suspect it was for before Hitchhiker's and only for that. I mean,
nobody would get it except for Hitchhiker's fans who actually knew that
music was associated with it, or at least people who had viewed and
remembered the original teaser for HHGG (not much difference between
the groups, really, if any).

Thus, given the small, in-joke audience, they have chosen not to put
this trailer on the web. Also, I keep forgetting, it's only been two
weeks since the HHGG release. So maybe you'll find it out there later
on.

No, Chicken Little is by Disney, but not Pixar. Cars will be the last
Disney/Pixar collaboration. Well, it's not really been a
collaboration. Cars will be the last Pixar movie distributed by
Disney. They've been unable to come to terms on a new deal.

Similarly, IIRC, Home on the Range was Disney's last hand-animated
film. Apparently all future efforts will be made with computers.
Chicken Little will be the first of these. Sad, isn't it?
