Yeah!- just heard the Science Museum are hosting the new Hitchhiker's
Guide to the Galaxy Exhibition - please read below...

Over 200 props, creatures and costumes to feature in new Hitchhiker's
Guide to the Galaxy Exhibition at the Science Museum, London

Eight-foot tall creations from Henson's Workshop, spaceships,
androids, as well as Douglas Adams' nose, are just some of the
remarkable things visitors will experience at the Hitchhiker's Guide
to the Galaxy Exhibition at the Science Museum.

Open from 28 May, the exhibition will take visitors on a journey from
Arthur Dent's kitchen to the far reaches of outer space. The witty
and satirical narrative of Douglas Adams' iconic story will be
brought to life against a backdrop of large scale and richly designed
sets from the motion picture.

The exhibition will not only focus on Adams' intriguing and
irreverent creations, but also provide a fun and engaging exploration
of the science featured in his work from teleportation and
supercomputers to parallel universes and the big bang.

Divided into a number of immersive zones including the Vogon ship, the
Heart of Gold and the Planet Factory Showroom, each area features
recreations of the sets, plus over 200 props, creatures and costumes
featured in the blockbuster.

Exhibition Highlights include:

The actual Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as seen in the film

The eight-foot tall Vogon Captain Jeltz, designed and built by
Henson's Creature Workshop, plus footage illustrating the Vogons in
action

complete with computer terminals allowing visitors to ask the
'ultimate question'

"At the Science Museum, we are constantly striving for new and
innovative ways to engage the public with science, and the
Hitchhiker's exhibition is a fantastic opportunity to do this,"
said Jon Tucker, Head of Science Museum.

"The book is a wonderful icon of science fiction and the Museum has a
long history of interest in this area. I hope the exhibition will help
us show more visitors that thinking about science, including of course
the meaning of life, the universe and everything, is fascinating and
fun."

Robbie Stamp, Executive Producer of the film and the Science Museum
exhibition said: "Of all the things that we are doing in addition to
actually, finally, making the movie, I think that the idea of an
exhibition about Hitchhiker's at the Science Museum would have
pleased Douglas enormously. He loved the company of scientists!"
