I've found the continuity error. Or at least a continuity error. Maybe.
It's morning in England, where Arthur has just woken up and the workmen are
starting their day. He and Ford go to the pub where it's "before lunch
time". This means it should still be night in Rio, but they show it being
full daylight.
That's one.
Chiggy.

I am slightly hard of hearing, so maybe I heard this wrong, but here goes.
Arthur met Trish for the first time at the party , and she left with Zaphod.
When Arthur is discussing her with Ford he refers to a relationship that
lasted a week. Could someone please correct me. As I get older I go to
fewer and fewer movies, because of the soundtrack volume. The music track
(and other sound effects) is turned up so high I can't hear the dialog
anymore. When the original mini-series came to the United States I was a
young man of 14. The movie has finally been made and I am a cranky, hard of
hearing old man (or feel like it).

Maybe Tricia hummed and haa-ed to herself for a week about seeing Arthur
again, and then went away with Zaphod instead. Hm. Ha.

Well, Arthur was after all invited to the party. Perhaps they met a week
before?
