An Accident Involving A Contraceptive And A Time Machine [message #32004] Di, 10 Mai 2005 01:06

So, if they make The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe, who would you
like to see playing Zaphod's grandfather (Beeblebrox III) in that fantastic
scene involving a seance and a computer desperately trying to make a cup of
tea?

I started thinking Patrick Moore would do a good job of it. Then I couldn't
remember if he was dead or not. Ahem.

Pink (They better not change *that* scene.)

Sir Patrick is very much alive. In fact, I wouldn't bet money he wasn't the
inspiration for the new look of the Vogons. He's still doing his monthly
program, having missed a single episode, and that this year after his
suffered from food poisoning.

Oh, and the obvious answer, at least to me, is Keith Richards, guitarist for
the Rolling Stones, except Johnny Depp wants him to play his character's
father if they do a sequel to "Pirates of the Caribbean" as that's who Depp
based his character on.

I'd like to change my vote to Wing-Davey. Keith Richards?! What was I
thinking?

Hmmm. That'd be a nice tough.

Do you think Zaphod's personality is like his grandfather's though?
Beeblebrox III always struck me as being crotchety and irritable, rather
than manic and annoyingly shallow.

Plenty of actors get like that in their old age too, so Mark should be OK :)
