If you're not a registered imdb user, it's easy and worth it. Right now,
the HHGG movie has a 7.3 rating out of 10. If you've seen it, you know that
should really be a 3.7. Shockingly, at present 791 people have rated this
movie a 10! I guess they think they're voting for the novel or something,
or they can't admit that the movie doesn't work. I hate this kind of blind
devotion. These are the fans who would've voted a 10 before even seeing it
if they were able, just because DNA means so much to them. That's fine, but
find a literary site and rate th novel a 10. Don't lie about the movie.

Let's tip the scales (don't be a hater and rate it a 1... unless you think
it deserves such. Just be honest).

Or maybe people thought it deserved a 10? What the hell is the problem with
that? Why can't you accept that? Just because you don't like it doesn't
mean that other people can't. End of story.

If you think that's a 10 movie my friend... excuse me while I wipe the tears
of laughter from my cheeks. Have you watched a film in the last 30 years?

Someone's opinion differs from yours. OH NO!!!

Internet: collapsing!
Universe: imploding!
Dolphins: leaving!

Besides, the hardest thing to do is compare movies to each other. Sure,
I wouldn't say that the H2G2 movie is my favourite movie ever. However,
I would say that it's the greatest Hitchhiker's movie ever made. In
fact, it's the _only_ Hitchhiker's movie ever made. Therefore, it is the
best 10/10 Hitchhiker's movie ever made.

Personally, graded on a curve in comparison with the releases I've seen
this year: a solid 8.

As much as I hate the movie, I hope they keep making the movies. It'll
get people interested in the books at least, and they might eventually
get it right.

Who knows, with a better director the 'next' one might be better.
*shrugs* I just don't ask anyone to expect me to rave on about it.

No one expects you to be dishonest about your feelings, but I get the
impression your reaction is a very emotional one. Again, nothing wrong with
that, as far as it goes, but there are other aspects than emotion that go
into a balanced opinion. Have you seen the movie more than once? Is it
possible, however unlikely, a second viewing might give you added
perspective and perhaps improve or confirm your already well established
opinion? Just a thought.

It's like my reaction to the Phantom Menace. I hated it when it came out
for lots of reasons, but I gave it a second viewing when it was released on
DVD. I still hate it, but at least I gave it a fair shake.

I'm a very emotional person. That puts a lot of people off and makes
me seem very stupid, but it's just the way I am.

Because I'm emotional you assume I've not thought about this clearly.
Trust me, I've mulled over this baby repeatedly. My less emotional
sister had very much the same reaction I did. I have very good reasons
why I'm this pissed off. I could list them all if you like but I'm sure
I'd just be repeating myself, and be very boring as a result.

Don't get me wrong - I don't mind if people like it and I might seem
rather unfriendly at the moment but that's not the case at all.

I just get angry when I see a big-budget crap movie. Especially when
it's supposed to be about something that's not crap at all.

Oh, I gave this movie a fair shake. I read MJ's review, thought it was
going to suck and thought, "Okay. Fair go. Go in there and give it a
chance." And for the first twenty minutes I was pleasantly surprised.
Then it all went to the craphouse for me and I got steadily more annoyed.

By the end I was just heartbroken.

Uhm, yeah, I have. I work at a cinema.

Maybe I just have different taste to you...?
