I'll be going to the cinema on Tuesday to see the film (just after a job
interview)....
I'm going to see it as a lifelong and committed fan, with all the
background knowledge that comes from having digested all of the previous
incarnations of HHGTG....
My wife had grudgingly agreed to come with me to see it too....She's
never heard the radio series, avoided the TV series like it was the
plague, and has never read a single word of DNA's writings....She's sort
what you might call an anti-fan as she's approaching this film with a
definite "Okay then, convince me, if you can" attitude.....
So I think the results of our cinema trip could prove very
interesting....I'll be in a perfect position to see how well the movie
comes across to a complete HHGTG virgin (and a sceptical one at that)....
So hopefully by Tuesday night I should have some sort of definitive
answer as to whether this film stands up on it's own without the support
of previous versions....I'll post my findings for y'awll....
