<snip>
I learned the other day that pronoia is the opposite of paranoia - it is the
belief that everything in the universe is conspiring to take care of you ,
everybodies out to love you. It's not such a bad thing to aim for - it stems
from a gnostic belief system and was briefly adapted by a group called the
zippies , zens into pronoia or something. zaphod beeblebrox experienced it
in the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy when he realised the universe was
meant for him and on making that realisation , ate the fairycake that was
powering it.
<end snip>
I don't mind. but try alt.fan.douglas-adams if you want to get really in to
it.

To bring back on topic... sort of, never has the idea of Dukkha been
more clearly expressed to me than:
"All through my life I've had this strange unaccountable feeling that
something was going on in the world, something big, even sinister, and
no one would tell me what it was."
"No," said the old man, "that's just perfectly normal paranoia.
Everyone in the Universe has that."
