'Airplane II' gags aside, after watching this, me too. Mainly for Burt
Young - god, it's good to see him again - but I could never bring
myself to dislike Sly that much anyway.

I thought Stallone's performance in 'Cop Land' was hugely underrated
and a welcome reminder of the promise people had seen in him during the
'70s. The Springsteen song was a particularly nice touch. The film
itself was unfairly buried by some critics as a post-Tarantino
knock-off IMHO: it had more going for it than that.

Best

'James Bond. You reappear with the tedious inevitability of a fading
movie star attempting to regain his credibility by appearing in a movie
that Miramax have assured him will be "the next 'Pulp Fiction'".'

Genuine Hollywood fairytale: actor writes (modern fairytale) script that
pulls him out of the acting doldrums and makes him a superstar.

It would be just another chapter in the fairytale if the character were
to come and save him again.

Love the last line in the trailer!

I basically like Stallone. I ignore all the bad stuff and just
remember the good stuff.

I love that music, man. That trailer was packed with the best music
from the original Rocky.

I root for any combination of Stallone and that music, but I've gotta
say... Well, what the heck? I'm sure this couldn't be any worse than
Rocky 4.

Did anyone see Rocky 5? Was it any good?

From what I understand they took down the ROCKY statue in Philly,
I can't understand for the life of me why?!

Yes, I was dragged along when I was a kid.

> Was it any good?

No, it was not. I barely remember it, but since the focus is on Rocky's
protege and not Rocky himself, I recall it being really boring.

Anyway, this new movie doesn't seem to have that problem. I have little
interest in boxing, and I haven't seen Rocky 1-4, but I'll see this for
you, Mac :)

Yup, major mistake was not getting Rocky into the ring with
Tommy for the climatic fight.

I was never that big a fan either, I did watch ALI sometimes however.
In any case I did enjoy the first FOUR films never saw Five.

No. IMHO, 3 was entertaining but not a very good movie. But 4 and 5 were
just bad movies.

If you really haven't seen "Rocky 1," you should rent it. Pick a
quiet afternoon or evening and watch it.

The pace and mood of the movie will surprise you. It starts out a lot
more like, say, "Midnight Cowboy" than like "Rambo."
