Just something else to break the monotony.

I read a theory in a mugglenet editorial saying that Probably, she was
first sent to protect the muggle PM; once killed, they needed to send an
auror (Kingsley)
"Interesting that Emmeline died in the Prime Minister's vicinity... when
we already know that the Prime Minister has a personal Auror assigned to
him. Not just any Auror, though: Kingsley Shacklebolt, a fellow member
of the Advance Guard, and an extremely accomplished sleight-of-hand
operator, as we saw in OotP. Why was Emmeline so close to Kingsley and
the Prime Minister? Was she assigned to the PM as well? Or was it
important for her to be near Shacklebolt? And why does Fudge think the
PM may not have heard about it? Could it be that the body was not found
by the Muggle police (as Bones' body was), but merely a trashed house?"

There is also some 'clues' by this Galadriel person, but I trust the
Mugglenet editors the most :)

Yes, it did break the monotony :)

I tend to agree, actually. In the U.S. edition, JKR let slip that the
Order may be in the business of arranging fake deaths, and I can think
of more-than-one good reason why DD might want to fake Emeline's death.

So that Snape can brag of it to fellow Death Eaters?
Jonathan.

If Snape is actually a good guy, then yes. She goes into hiding, and Snape
takes credot for the information, to ingratiate himself further.
But look, Amelie Bones is discussed, and DD tells Harry that she was " a
great witch". Yet, an Order member, whom Harry had met, DD makes no mention
of her passing. Then, on the tower at the end, DD tells Draco how he and his
family can be hidden by the Order. Yet we have never seen an example of how
this could be so, except for the Potters. And we know how they died. It was
a significant mention, that hasn't yet come to play.
