If you have watched Star Trek, you know that they have syringes that
painlessly push medicine through the skin. We have that now, too. For $475 a
doctor can purchase Biojector, which blasts medicine through the skin with a
high pressure squirt of carbon dioxide. It is painless, and because no
needle penetrates the skin, it is also disease-safe. - from

I know about the the device from experience. Back in 1963 several kids
and myself were given vaccinations with the use of the 'vaccine gun'.
Wasn't sure what to expect but it was merely a sharp pressure. Seeing
it used on Star Trek shortly thereafter was pleasantly familiar.

I seem to recall that when we were getting polio vaccinations a few
lifetimes ago they gave it to us on sugar cubes, but one of my brothers
wouldn't eat his cube and got shot with one of those injectors.
