It was found in an attic in Oxford and bore the title "A Long-expected
Orgy". It began: "When Mr Quacko Duckin of Duck's Behind announced that
he would shortly don a pair of trousers, there was much talk and
excitement in Duckburg." However, I talked him into changing the
subject matter a little. Descriptions of the obscene behaviour of the
eroquackers are not for the fainthearted.

Yes, Tolkien did censor that part out; but fortunately, FATS has the
videos. FREE if you join us at 1-900-KILLFAQ!

With panting ducks? Or a hippo ballet, as in that Disney film,
"Fatarsia"? Whatever the truth of this matter, I'm shocked. Deeply
shocked. And we still have not learned whether Dick the Duck was
related to Duck the Dick. It's infamous!

i think this duck business is a bit of a hoax, even if it's well-known
that Orcs had webbed feet. what does christopher tolkien say?

The only duck reference that made it into the final draft was that of
the 'quick duck' that saved Sam in the battle of the Chamber of
Mazarbul. The significance of this duck suddenly appearing, in an
apparent deux ex machina moment, is lost after all the editing that
Tolkien had done for the final draft. Pity CT did not pick up on this in
his analysis.

I understood there was more detail about the duck in prioir drafts, but
they were deleted on the galley-proofs because of a reference to its
"wings"......

Heresy!
It was a wingless duck!
That's why it was so quack on its feet to save Sam.

Do you think CT left out the ducks by accident? I don't. I think it's
all part of his vile game of suppressing the truth.

Okay, so what about the sturdy thrush that showed up just in time to kill
the orc?

The same one that was at Erebor? Obviously he was one of those who
listened to Balin and decided to return to Moria.

Mouldy crotch syndrome in Orcs?
If that's all an Orc dies from in Middle Earth, he'll be doing well.
Usually its a nasty sword swipe or gash with an axe.

No. Quail are right out of the question. Tolkien rejected the idea early

This thread will go all cheesey soon with all this milk sloshing about.
We need a punnet to put the milk in.

I like milk. If permitted, I'll simply wolf it down. Or "warg it down",as
they say in Middle-earth.
