It has a good moral message. Wear a sexy little nighty, have lots of sex,
become queen. My wife needs to watch the show.

You forgot the part where you get killed, she kills her boyfriend on the
side, and takes off with a security guard. Maybe you don't want your wife to
watch after all...

Well, the end of it made me immediately want to know what happens next. Did
Sato actually get to be empress? Did she last long, or was she assassinated
quickly? What happened to the Defiant? Surely the empire would learn how it
works (it took Tucker about an hour to get the hang of it) and then build
more... but if *that* happened why the blazes are they still using that
exact ship design 100 years later (Mirror Mirror)- surely they should be far
beyond that? So was the Defiant destroyed- or is this another MU? Was T'Pol
killed (I lost track of where she was during the space battle- on the
Avenger? Executed?)? And if this is the same MU, then shouldn't the Mirror
Enterprise crew in Mirror Mirror be expecting Kirk and co to turn up, since
surely it's a matter of Federation record that would be in the Defiant's
logs?

I'd love to see more from this timeline. And the midriffs. More of the
midriffs, please. Mrrrrowr.

I really loved this story (well, being the world's #1 Gorn fan I was a bit
disappointed with the Gorn, but I'll let that pass :) and it proved again
that Trek is at its best when it's intense and dark (First Contact, The Best
Of Both Worlds, much of DS9, VOY's Year Of Hell (except the ending), TWOK,
TUC, Balance Of Terror, City OTEO Forever...) One day TPTB will realise this
and dispense with the bland nicey nicey reset-button ho hum shit that's
wrecked the franchise... IMHO of course :)

Blalock has said she thinks Ent should have been like this story from the
start. I agree.

I vote for another MU. Its sooooo much easier to reconcile that way.

Didn't the Tholian Web episode on TOS occur before the MU one? In that
case, the logs wouldn't have anything.

Yeah, what was with the Gorn? We know from TOS they are slow and clumsy
albeit very strong. While I appreciate having the Gorn, did Beavis and
Butthead really need to change it from canon yet again? Sorry, I was
dreaming again, thinking that B&B actually give a damn about Trek.

Nope, the Tholian Web is season 3, well after Mirror Mirror.

Presumably the Gorn was Manny Coto's idea. I can forgive it. Obviously,
anything too close to Arena's rubber suit would have looked just as silly to
modern eyes (I suspect it looked just as silly back then too in fact). So I
think they pretty much went back to basics with "reptilian biped" and
redesigned from scratch. To me though, it looked a bit Jurassic Park. I
think they could have veered a bit closer to the original. A bit of a
disappointment, considering the enormously well thought out updated
Tholians.

The Gorn was a bit of a sideshow anyway, really. May have been better
without. I'd prefer the Gorn to have returned someday as a major enemy. I
think they deserve it.

I really liked the Gorn. It seemed far more real. I don't think they went
against cannon, they added to it. That is their job. Besides, if they had a
seven foot tall sloth-like reptile lumbering around the ship, it would have
been easy pickings for the security teams sent after it. Like shooting a
turtle with a shotgun. Which is fun but it'll get you in trouble.

Rumor has it that she was a fan of the show before they paid her to play
T'Pol. Based on her "exit interview", that sounds consistent.
