As we had some discussions about this subject earlier in the year, I
thought I'd post this:

I'm only three episodes into Season 1 right now, but so far she seems
to be making a pretty good companion.

"Do you expect me to talk?"
"No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to assist me in building my home-made Dalek
for the upcoming WHO CON so that this year I can take the grand prize
away from Carl Stromberg and his home-made sonic screwdriver."

She has been very good. It'll be interesting to see what happens next,
since Russell Davies has expended far more time and backstory on her
character than has been done with any other companion I can remember.
Also, I wonder what newer converts to the series will make of the two
original leads departing within the space of as many seasons. I mean,
I'm used to the ideas of Doctors regenerating and companions leaving,
but even I'm wondering how the series will shape up after Rose departs.
I give it two days before the next round of tabloid reports that Billie
Piper is to be the Bond girl in the follow-up to CR...

Heh! My memory may be playing tricks here, but wasn't she cast as
Vesper by the tabloids a few times before Eva Green got the role?
Best
Phil
(Incidentally, if I haven't mentioned it already, I'm very impressed by
the English accent Green's been adopting in recent TV interviews. She
doesn't just sound English, to me she sounds like Vesper should as
well.)

Pardon my French, but that sucks. I think she is great on the show. She is a
cute little honey bun, love her look.

It became quite clear, to this fan and his wife at least, by the middle of
the current season that the character of Rose had long since been developed
as far as she could and had outlived her usefulness.

Two of her best features are her eyes. Heh, you thought I was gonna say
something else. But I do like her eyes.

Blunt, but probably right. Are they still writing the scripts ahead, that
when a new companion appears, they already have the exit planned?
