Trying out a new usenet reader and server so I don't have to use google AND
I can block those dumbass newsgroup bombers who seriously need to get a real
life..
So far.. it's working rather nicely.

How did you set your usenet reader to filter out the crap? Outlook Express
always crashes my Mac when I try to use it for news and the program that I
found doesn't appear to have such a function.

I'm using Mozilla. No bombers here. Though I started filtering them
months ago.

I use Firefox for browsing.. what are you using exactly from Mo to do
usenet? So far Outlook Express is doing ok. I tried this one free server
awhile back but it wasn't reliable. It's changed since from what I can tell
so far..

I am in Outlook Express.. and it does ok for me but I am not on a Mac. It
has a *block sender* function. That works really well until the morons
change their ID. Then when I start seeing the crap again, I just block that
one again. There isn't any way at all that I know of, in ANY reader, to
block the garbage without first having to see it and block the sender. When
I used OE for email, there is a word filter to keep out spam. It works great
until you have a friend who inadvertantly uses words or phrases in your
blocked list, so that isn't the best solution either.

Not FireFox, Mozilla. With the Dinosaur. It is exactly like Netscape,
which has a built-in mail/newsgroup reader. It's an older version, but
why tamper with something that works really well.
