Thanks to HPANA.com, here is a poster with Dan sporting a new haircut for
the fifth movie in the series:

Wow. it's a really badly washed out image, and you can barely see his
hair; but when I can see, I don't like. Don't the filmmakers understand
that Harry's hair is supposed to be MESSY? Even when he (or someone else,
like Molly) tries to fix it, he can't (this has been commented on in the
books numerous times). Cuaron got it right, why can't the others?
What can I say, I like the Harry's hair seems to have a mind of its own,
and ever since they got that right in PoA, I can't stand when they try to
make it look normal.

Yeah.. Harry is supposed to have longer messy hair.. But as for Dan as
himself, he's getting to be a rather nice looking young man! (I don't
guess there are any bath tub scenes in OOTP is there.. sigh...

Well, obviously that's because Harry's hair is a Horcrux :)

I just said that a day or two ago. "Hairy are the horcruces".

Well, I've just seen the Hogwarts bit of the Queen's 80th birthday bash
(yawn) with Ron, Hermione and Harry (all in character), and both Ron's and
Harry's hair is (are?) very neat and tidy, just like the poster and quite
unlike GoF!

10secs? The Hogwarts bit was at least 2 mins, lol - very hammy, and yes, it
did sort of just stop... I saw all of that bit, but only a minute or two
here and there of the rest as I went in and out of the room. What I did see
seemed only suitable for pre-schools (though I doubt they'd understand the
half of it) - even as pantomime goes, I thought it was a bit off (with
apologies if anyone here was connected with the production - oops!)

As for Harry's scar, I have to confess, I never even thought to look - sorry
*blush*

There was a preview for the skit in a link on Mugglenet several days ago. It
was about 10 seconds long, if that. Just a very quick bit of Harry sending
Hedwig off to "Buckingham Palace; you know; the big white building with the
flags on top" or something to that effect.. and that was it.

Not really. The conceit for the show was that various characters from
children's literature were trying to find the Queen's handbag (that's
a purse in America). In the Hogwarts section, which was rather longer
than 10 seconds, Ron was a clumsy idiot as usual, Neville & Harry were
cute, and Hermione devised a charm enabling the muggle children of the
audience to Accio the bag. They were all out-acted by the owl, final
proof for dear old Nystulc that she was played by Maggie Smith. ^_^

Now that's a cool idea (well, the handbag's stupid, but the crossover
is cool).

And they never showed Harry sending out the letter as shown in the
commercial.

Though I'm pretty sure Hermione's Charm violates tons of laws.

Ok found the whole skit clip posted on Mugglenet. It was cute, but
seemed to have the ending few seconds cut off. Emma, I think, took the
whole thing wayyy too seriously, lol. Kind of overplayed Hermione worse
than usual. Actually, Hermione appeared to have the major role in the
skit, while the boys seemed to be holding back laughter the whole time,
lol.

The clip I saw ended with Hermione talking about transferring magic.
The commerical of Harry sending out the litter wasn't shown. It was
like 2:33 or so.

And if JK did write it, then it means there is a limit on Accio-ing
stuff.

It struck me as odd that both Harry and Ron pronounced Accio as "Akio"
instead of "asseo". I wonder if that was done intentionally so as not to
offend anyone.

Did anyone get to see the OOTP set pix with the three of them that was
on TLC? I was on the site today, and when I clicked on the link, it
said that the picture was taken down at the request of Dan's management
or publicist.

hmmm... I would have said ak-kio. (double consonant.... you have to
watch those double consonants so you order a bowl of penne not
pene. ;) Many spells have latin roots, and in traditional latin, c is
always a hard c. (as in cake)

Just that it didn't seem that well paced - the story sort of stumbled on its
end rather than leading up to it. Oh well, enough of the over-analysis - I'm
sure it worked well for 5 year olds :)

Indeed. Of course, handbags are better used for foundlings.

What did you think of the way Ronald was portrayed as a clumsy idiot?

Though I'm sure Rowling didn't write it, she must have sanctioned it.

I've always thought of Accio as "Akio".

In any case, "Asseo" would not offend anyone here, since an ass is
just a type of horse. The 'rude' word you're thinking of is "arse".

I've always said Ac-cio, like action. I suppose it depends on everyone's
language

Until I saw GOF, I thought Accio would be pronounced "Ah chee oh."
(stress on the first syllable).

I didn't like it much.. although I am sure it was done for a target
audience of about the age of.. 6.. maybe, lol.
On has to wonder though, even if this isn't JKR's handiwork, why bother with
anyone else.. they would have you believe Hermione is the one who always
manages to save the day.

It was pronounced in GoF movie with the hard K also. I am trying to recall
how it is in the Jim Dale audio but it's been too long since I heard it. But
then since most of his pronunciations bothered me, his "accio" was probably
*wrong* in my point of view also, lol. I used to read it as "ash-ee-oh".

Mugglenet had the video clip for download.. it was a little over 5 minutes
long. Showed the bit of sending off the owl etc.. I am not sure what those
who say it was only about 2 and a half minutes were watching.

But it was nice Neville joined the fun. Didn't think it'd be more

Happened once before. A spell was pronounced differently than the
official way at that site. Might have been good old Accio.

Harry says Buckingham Palace, and desscribes it. Weird red border
around the image during the comemrical. Seems that was the true end
of the sketch.

and really, wouldn't the prime Minister ask the Minster of Magic? Or
send it tot he headmaster, not the school in general? Ah simplicity
for the ickle kiddies.

it's available on Youtube everywhere. about 11 secodns long.

I could swear that in the Goblet of Fire, Harry yells "Asseo Firebolt!"
I'll have to get out my DVD and find that spot.

He definitely said "Akio" in GoF. But was it pronounce "Asseo" in
earlier movies? Also, how does Stephan Fry pronounce it in the audio
books? Jim Dale says "Asseo".

I don't believe it was ever used until GoF. Harry learning it wasn't even in
the movie; just that quick (VERY quick) bit right before the task when
Hermione is quickly telling him to concentrate or whatever the actual line
is. In the book, they spent alot of time practicing.

Agreed, though if you reread book 1, it's amazing how much Neville
is involved in the trio's adventures. He's even the first one that
says anything (after the twins & Ginny, but before Ron speaks).

Whatever; the point is that "ass" is not an offensive word here.
