I hope things are ok.. When were those horrid elections taking place
that she was talking about awhile back..? I hope she didn't decide to
flee without telling us all where she was going? Mostly just kidding..
I do hope she's ok.

I am hoping she's ok as well. I had emailed her about a week ago and didn't
get a response. So I thought, well maybe, it didn't go through.

Don't worry -- the election is over and the candidate she
was worried about lost. One news story about it is here:

(or just type Peru+election into Google News for many more.)

Thanks.. I know she had said it was down to the two, one being not much
better than the other or something.. I meant to look up her note and
explanation but forgot and logged out.
Maybe she is out celebrating that it wasn't the totally awful one,
lol.. and just lost track of time.

It has some similarities to the later books - and some very striking
differences.
As something of a joke, I photocopied and pasted on a coffeehouse men's
washroom wall one of the illustrations from "The King's Stilts" - the
picture of the "Nizzard" birds diving toward the dike trees. I added a
note to the effect "can anyone tell me what these are? I came back a
day later and someone had written one word on the picture. It
completely changed my perception of "The King's Stilts". Yeah, I have
to admit it but someone in Evanston Illinois (a college town) saw
something I completely missed.
When you read the book you will recognise the illustration. Try to
imagine what it is that I didn't see at first. I'll give you a hint -
check the copyright date.

Perhaps she is in a Peruvian prision with a special pen and the words
"Yo te gusta Karl Marx" bleeding on the back of her hand.

You should go to work for the PRC translating Chinese into Spanish.

Do the godless commies have "windowpane"? When I was studying Spanish
in "high" school they had windowpane.
The pay here sucks.
