OT: My pet porcupine [message #279241] So, 18 Juni 2006 02:33

My pet porcupine (Pickles) has decided to write a book.

Unfortunately her fingers are too small to hold a pencil.

I'm not sure how to break the news to her.

Any suggestions?

Get a dog.

Only cause they're excellent typists. Pickles could dictate to Fido and he
could type it out.

That - of course - leaves the obvious problem; What to name the typewriter?

I know what you mean. I considered this possibility myself.

But one day I woke up and I realized that porcupines can't talk. But I read
in National Geographic that porcupines can learn sign language, and that
they also build damns.

I'll have to learn sign language myself first, of course, before I'm
qualified to teach it to quadrupeds.Unfortunately I'm taking some courses
right now. Maybe I could drop out for a while and see how this purcupine
book pans out.

Who knows. I could be the next Oprah!

Excuse me: meaning no disrespect, but... it's BEAVERS that build dams.

Apes can learn sign language, and beavers build dams. Porcupines are the
ones that hop gracefully across the great Australian plains and carry their
young in gooey pouches on their gut.

Gawd - doncha know nuttin?

Yes - but do we really need another Oprah?

Wait a second! It's coming to me know! I remember!!!

Beavers build damns, not porcupines!

Porcupines bury their eggs on the seashore!

Your just now realizing that? <G>

Tell the porcupine to use a computer, it should be able to hunt and peck
the keyboard with either it's nose or a pencil in it's mouth.

Jeff DeWitt (there are always ways!)
