Thought I'd add a new thread just for the hell of it, it's been awfully
comatose around here of late.

Okay, I'll try to help get the thread kickstarted.
TSWLM TOPIC?
Bond and Anya's story was one of the most interesting things about
TSWLM. I was surprised to hear that it was kind of thrown into the
script at the last minute.
INSTANT PUZZLE?
If I really had the time, I'd compile a list of 40 lines of dialogue
-- the first 20 and the last 20 from each of the Bond films. I'd
alphabetize them and then we'd have Instant Puzzle! Match each Bond
film with the first and last lines spoken in it!
I have a hunch that final lines like "Keeping the British end up,
sir!" would be a lot more easy to figure out than something like "Good
morning," or "What's on radar?" (neither of which are real lines)

--- I didn't buy it, though. Barbara Bach just didn't pull it off as a
Bond babe that I could get excited about, or believe that Bond could
get excited about either - even if it was Roger Moore as Bond, too. In
fact, I rank Bach as one of the weakest of the lot. Her emotional
depth and acting range was totally nil in that role, she was just way
too much of a frozen-like automaton. I wonder what the script would've
been like without her and the character in it. It might've been even
more interesting without a female interest, actually. But then, who
would've been the spy who loved whom in it?

--- Or how about taking the best lines out of the first 20 and last 20
of each of the films and, in mixing and matching them, trying to
formulate a brand new set of a first 20 and last 20 lines? It would
all have to make sense, of course. That would be quite an exercise in
imagination and creativty.

Yes. Even as a child, I knew her acting was weak. I'm sure she's a
nice lady, but she's no Famke Janssen or Jane Seymour, or any of the
other 2 or 3 Bond girls that continued on to do more decent acting.

That sounds like a lot more work than just popping in the DVDs and
coughing out a list of 40 lines.
One other thought I had was to see about merging the final lines from
the final songs as well. Again, "Baby, you're the best," would at
least be a bit harder than "I fly to you from Russia with love." :-)

As far as I'm concerned, anything Barbara Bach decides to pull off is a
great start.
