And the report is obviously written by someone who's never seen the original
movie. (Rutger Hauer's character is picked up by a guy driving alone, not a
couple. He must be confusing it with Kalifornia...)

The report refers to the new script by Eric Bernt rather than the original
Eric Red screenplay.

I read it as being that he thinks that is what the original was.
Which means he can't effectively write a report either.
