Office building in american capitol locked down after gunfire heard.
Police conduct floor by floor search but turn up nothing.
Seems in Washington they can't find Weapons of Minor Destruction,
either.

Well, it turned out be a contractor operating a jackhammer in shaft.

Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border. Take the dirt, raise the
levees in New Orleans, and put the Florida alligators in the moat.
Are there any other problems you would like for me to solve?

I wonder if there was a plan to replace the regime in charge with a
democracy...

Did they shoot him, or just turn him in for "questioning"?

Jumpy, aren't they? I think it might be a collective guilty conscience.

The short answer is "Yes." The long answer is "No."

Come off it, it's obvious, when did you last hear of a lawyer operating a
jackhammer?

Big government has made proof there is nothing more important than big
government.

Just a thought - if more and more people go into politics and so lead to
bigger and bigger governments and more paper pushers. Won't the point
be reached where the one who holds the real key to power be the one who
fixes the plumbing?

No. I thought everybody knew this? Even today, the most important person
in any office is the one who maintains the coffee machine.

Ah but that's in the office, where (as is a widely known fact) there is
also to be found the "Coffee Guru" and sometimes the counterpart "Tea
Connoisseur" who will always have their own means of providing the
necessary liquids and may even be able to set up and fix that dang
contraption in the corner.
So my guess still stands I think, so far, coz if you ain't got the water
you can't make the brew no matter how well maintained the machine is.

Dunno, but I was always under the impression that liberals were the tax
and spend types and consrvatives were for smaller government.
From what I've seen over the past 10+ years...
A liberal reduced the size of US federal government by 200,000 or more
jobs and balanced their budget.
A conservative has increased the size of US federal government by
merging intelligence and investigative arms into a bureaucracy which
best be described as 'a morass' and is spending them into oblivion.
Never vote the party, vote the person.

Well, pneumatics I could understand as any capitol is going to be a
place with a lot of air and high pressure. But lawyers doing any work
other than paper shuffling and orating, nope can't say it's been done.

But the Whitehouse will always have running water, I mean politicians
don't exactly live in poverty or anything do they, so the coffee maker
could just always pop some kind of poison pill in without anybody knowing
if he really doesn't like somebody that treats him/her badly.

Ah but then the plumber could always use the wrong type of pipes or
forget to flush out the cleaning chemicals and achieve the same result
albeit on a broader scale ;-)

What an excellent place to have a linebreak - very convenient for
quoting it out of context. Indeed, the White House will probably
always have politicians, and when I say "politicians" I mean, of
course, running water. :-)
