As a great Pratchett fan, I'm always on the lookout for stuff in a
similar vein. So check out this: A Fictional History of Britain Part
One, by UK writer Paul Sullivan. It's a hoot - great characters, set in
the early days of New Troy. It's based on ancient British legends of
kings, giants, magicians, etc, and goes for laughs rather than
historical accuracy. It's the most original comic novel I've read for a
long time. It's in the shops (in theory: haven't actually seen it on
the shelves myself), but Paul's done it through lulu.com, the print on
demand people, and it might be cheaper to buy through them (check out
Amazon as well). You can preview the book before commiting yourself,
which is very helpful - click through the link at
www.lulu.com/sullomeo. Enjoy!
