5/28 - PRE-EMPTED for the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race (western stations
will air local programming after the race)
6/4 - Million Dollar Abie (HABF09)
Thanks to Grampa, the new "professional football" (don't call it NFL)
team won't be in Springfield, so the town takes it out on him, but
when his attempt at assisted suicide is stopped by Chief Wiggum, he
decides to make the most of his remaining life, starting with becoming
a bullfighter - and by coincidence, there's a bullring in Springfield
that was going to be a football stadium.
6/11 - Kiss Kiss Bang Bangalore (HABF10)
Mr. Burns outsources the nuclear plant to India and sends Homer there
to train locals to run it, but they end up treating him as some sort
of god; Richard Dean Anderson turns up at Patty and Selma's "MacGyver"
convention, but when he badmouths the show, they kidnap him
6/18 - See Homer Run (GABF21)
....for Mayor of Springfield (with Lisa's prompting), after a traffic
accident (caused by Bart removing a "Bart Blvd." street sign) results
in Mayor Quimby facing a recall election.

You NAPA Auto Parts fans dodged a bullet; Michael Waltrip didn't

They save a ton of money by shopping at WalMart.

That is an excellent point.
The Chinese have already invaded America - it is called "Wal-Mart"

This is off topic for the group, but...
It has recently been bothering me a lot that many goods purchased in
Wal-Mart (and most other mass retailers) could be produced by the forced
labor of political prisoners in China and other areas. (It does not bother
me if they are produced by low-wage workers, as long as they are working
willingly.) It is hard, however, to boycott everything "made in China."
My wife and I have declared June a "no Wal-Mart month." We are doing this
NOT because Wal-Mart has low, low prices, shoddy goods, or underpaid
workers. (In the USA, you can choose where you work; if the wages are so
low, those people would work elsewhere.) No, it's Wal-Mart's customer base.
Their tiny aisles are crammed with rude Cletus & Brandine types, along with
their 30 or so screaming brats, and I want no more of it! Plus, since
Wal-Mart tends to stock just about *everything*, we seem to spend much more
money than we intended.

Sorry to go off topic Mr. Flowers - It is amazing how it is generally poorer
people (like me) that shop at Wal-Mart and then are surprised that their
jobs are gone, while the Chinese leadership is living it up on US currency.
I went in there hoping to get a air conditioner - and all they had was
Chinese made, they don't even offer the US made (I would have paid a few
extra bucks to not buy Chinese made). So I sit in this damn hot apartment.
And now - off the soapbox.
And now back to OFF....

I wasn't complaining. :) The thread was off-topic anyway.

I am very sorry to hear about your un-air-conditioned status. What region of
the country do you live in?
The problem is pervasive. I did a quick search for "air conditioners" +
"American made." The list was not encouraging. Most were central air
systems. One did stress the advantage of their American made product, with
the words: "Yes you can purchase a China made unit for 50% less, but the
durability of a China made unit is low"
Gah! 50% less! (The line about the quality is probably true, but it is sad
to say that American manufacturers like to talk about quality before the
sale, but sometimes not after you have a problem.) Now that hurts the
monetarily disadvantaged consumer.

OK - I suggest if we wish to discuss this further, we should just use email.
Mine should be apparent by removing a certain letter.

You're obviously from some weird parallel universe, perhaps the same one
Good Cartman was from.

Yes, we should get the guy from the Chinese Takeaway to build a shitty wall
to keep these cheap imports out of the country... (It's a South Park
thing...)
