I just had a look at the official CR website at

A lot of interesting stuff, especially on Bond's background. In Bond's =
dossier, there are plenty of details that make it clear that the produce=
rs =
had a thorough look at the books: Bond's parents Andrew and Monique died=

in a mountaineering accident, Bond was expelled from Eton, he was very =
close with an Austrian ski instructor called Oberhauser, who disappeared=
=
mysteriously, there's a psychological report from Sir Moloney, etc. Of =
course, Bond can't have served in WWII, so he went to Bosnia, Iraq and =
other places. Another nice touch is his linguistics: he speaks fluent =
German, French and Italian, and also took a first degree in Oriental =
languages. The fact that he has never been married makes it quite clear =
=
that they start from scratch. All in all, a nice mix of books and films,=
=
which looks quite promising.
There's also a large section on the mission, the operatives and other =
details you may not want to know yet. I, for one, skipped all that, I'll=
=
have a look at it after 17 Nov.

Most significant 'fact' on the site is Bond's age - born in 1968 - so
he's 38 (same as Craig's age, fancy that!) - and was a teenager/young
adult during the Thatcher era so he's very different to Fleming's Cold
War spy. Craig's Bond is a post Cold War spy. Good thing he wasn't a
postman before he became a spy otherwise he'd be a post postman Cold
War spy.
