baloney we'll have flying cars first
i'm sure no one is going to notice the projector and it only works from
that one side
you are visible form the sides and back
were about as close to an invisibility cloak as we are to flying carpets

No, this is a new one. No projector. No visibility at all. But more
of a shield than a cloak. Great for planes. Not for people.

You must have read a different article than I did. The one I read was short
on details, and there was nothing in it to base a claim of how the end
product will function, though they did keep leaning towards the whole cloak
idea, as in one that a person could wear. They even had one scientist say,
"Yes, you could actually make someone invisible as long as someone wears a
cloak made of this material," though he wasn't actually part of the project.

Predator was a movie. In movies there always has to be a some sort of
"shimmer of distortion" or the audience wouldn't be able to tell where the
"invisible" thing is.
From the article in Science, the one that the CNN article refers to, it
would appear that there is no shimmer at all. However, it'll cost you at
least $10 bucks to view the article online, or over $110 (depending on
status as student, teacher, etc.) to join AAAS and be able to view all of
their articles. Or you could see if your local public library has a copy.
