Yet Another Crazy HBP THeory [message #269969] Mo, 22 Mai 2006 23:18

I'm not going to believe this, because I don't think it's crazy enough
to be true, but here goes:

Dumbledore killed Snape!

You see, they were both using Polyjuice Potion to look like each other.
Snape wanted a way out of the conflict brought about by having a life
debt to Harry, and Dumbledore wanted to fake his own death.

Now we know that Snape is a consummate actor, therefore he was able to
be civil with Harry during the time in the cave.

Nudge nudge, good one, eh?

Regards,
John

How about this: Since Ron is Dumbledore, Snape actually killed Ron!
Dumbledore is still alive!! WooHoo!

Sir, you have topped my crazy theory with a crazier one. My hat is off
to you.

Dear Mr VanSickle,

We have reviewed your application for a Crazy Theory License. We
receive many such worthy applications each term. However, we regret to
inform you that your Crazy Theory has been turned down on the basis that
it is Insufficiently Crazy. The decision of the board is final.

Please do not hesitate to submit another Crazy Theory Candidate to us at
another time. (We're not saying which other time; you'll have to guess
that.)

That one is crazy, it really is :)
Speaking of parody, how about this one:
Dumbledore, disguised as Snape, killed Lord Valdemort, who was by
polyjuice potion transformed to Dumbledore (and the Death Eaters were
trying to get into the tower to join him and together kill Harry, but
LV-DD mixed the spell and just immobilised him) and then, after
murdering LV and starting to like killing, Dumbledore-Snape ran away to
take LV's place and become the new Dark Lord.
I mean, come on, how crazy can you get???!!!
:)))

Except he's not. he's Siirus, who's ghost did return , and took on
DD's form. The real Dd could never be disarmed by an ambushing Draco.

Polyjuice only works for an hour, so Snape/Dumbledore would have
reverted to Snape while he and Harry were away.

BTW, even if you could get around that part of it, what life debt? I
don't recall Harry saving Snape.

End of Prisoner of Azkaban. Though not /exactly/ a "life" debt.

Oddly enough, a friend of mine has been trying to sell me on this idea
almost since HBP came out.

Spoiler space for HBP!!!

Hope that's enough space...

Her theory is that Dumbledore was acting a little out of character during
the sequence in the cave going out of the locket, saying things that make
him seem like he has a really big ego. Therefore, it couldn't have really
been Dumbledore, but was Snape instead. Then with Dumbledore disguised as
Snape and Snape disguised as Dumbledore, "Snape" kills or pretends to kill
"Dumbledore" on top of the tower. Then "Snape," (really Dumbledore) goes
off to be with Lord Moldywarts, thereby putting the only wizard that
Moldywarts ever feared into his inner circle. Yeah, it's a crazy theory,
but one my friend actually believes in. In fact, I think she may have
originally read it here in this newsgroup last July or August.
