A question about human aging in the GFFA... [message #268304] Sa, 27 Mai 2006 06:29

Supposedly, humans in the SW universe age longer than real world
humans. However, the creators of the upcoming Legacy comic series
supposedly said that SW humans age pretty much the same as real ones.
Which is it? Did the Legacy creators actually go on record as stating
that?

Humans in the Star Wars universe are exactly the same as us. They age the
same and do everything the same, with the exception of the Force which we
cannot use.

They are normal humans just like you and me, and age at the same rate,
as the sci-fi *event's* take place in this galaxy tousands of years in
the future. That is IMHO. ;-)

I seem to remember reading somewhere (perhaps in one of the EU books
or in relation to it) that the SW humans live longer or are able to be
more active longer than we are. I think it was in the context of a
conversation about Han feeling "old" and someone reassuring him that
he wasn't old. I wish I could remember the narrative but it makes
some sense given all the hyperspace travel. And it seems to me that
characters like Garm Bel Iblis and Admiral Pellaeon are active well
beyond their elderly years.

Sorry I don't have a source but I do remember reading something about
this.

Theoretically, humans age the same speed; but there must be something in
the water on Naboo. :-)

FWIW, us humans today live longer then our 19th century ancestors did,
and the average age of stone age humans was 43 years.
