Bond in Three Words [message #266691] Fr, 12 Mai 2006 21:03

With everyone having their own differing perceptions of what a good Bond
film is, I am curious what three words, for you, represent the character
of James Bond, and who you think nailed those qualities best.

Mine are: Suave; cool; lethal.

For me, Connery and Dalton nailed those best.

In my mind's eye Fleming's Bond is simultaneously dangerous, charming
and sophisticated.

Connery got all three right.
Lazenby had dangerous down pat
Moore was charming and a bit "snobishly" sophisticated
Dalton got dangerous and charming right
Brosnan got charming, occasionally sophisticated although I never
thought he did dangerous very well.

Craig looks like his Bond will at least have the stuff of dangerous and
will probably be remembered for his "ballsy" portrayal (so to speak)
;-)

Matt

Oh geez...Kukla, Fran, and Ollie.

I'm sorry. Sinceriously.

As pointed out elsewhere, I should have used another element, so I replace
mercury with iron.

And I didn't name any Bond actors because I think they all pulled it off to
varying degrees, and I'm not in the mood for the old Which One Was Best
argument.
